Mark Hamel is a Principal at Talcott Ridge Consulting since August 2020 and has extensive experience in lean methodologies. As a Co-Author of the Shingo Publications Award-winning "Lean Math: Figuring to Improve" and the author of the Shingo Prize-winning "Kaizen Event Fieldbook," Mark has significantly contributed to the field of lean thinking. Mark co-founded the Lean Math Blog in February 2013 to assist lean practitioners with math-assisted kaizen. Additionally, Mark is a Faculty Member at the Lean Enterprise Institute and the founder of the Gemba Tales blog. Previous roles include leading operations at Amgraph Packaging, directing strategic planning at Ensign-Bickford Industries, and serving as a Lean Six Sigma Consultant and Vice President at Moffitt Associates. Mark holds multiple advanced degrees including a MA in Philosophy and a MA in Theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, a MS in Professional Accounting from the University of Hartford, and a BS in Mathematics from Trinity College-Hartford.
