Smile Group was set up in 2011 on Mother's Day by Natalie Nuttall & Ruth Williams, who both had experience of perinatal mental illness and saw a glaring gap in community support.

Smile operates a blend of services across Cheshire East, including peer support groups, 1-1 talk therapy, home visits, family sessions and 1-1 support.

Smile has supported more than 600 women and their families in the last three years alone through its peer support drop-ins, 1-1 talk therapy and home visits programme.

Smile Group is featured in the RCGPs' Perinatal Mental Health Toolkit of best practice nationally and has been supported by Comic Relief's Maternal Mental Health programme. It is also a member of the Perinatal Mental Health Partnership and helps to coordinate an award winning national maternal mental health matters awareness campaign each year.

Its peer support groups run on a weekly basis out of children's centres in Macclesfield, Congleton & Sandbach.
