Dave Smith

Dave Smith has over 30 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. Dave began their career in 1987 as an IT Support and Programmer at Lockheed Martin. In 1995, they joined Grant Thornton LLP as a Senior Consultant, where they were involved in Information Technology consulting for enterprise level clients. Dave then moved to KPMG CT in 1997 as a Manager of Technology, where they managed large scale client engagements and led the design, development and implementation of enterprise e-commerce, data warehouse, CRM, and ERP systems. In 2000, Dave Smith joined TransFirst as an IT Director, where they directed Information Technology and Operations, and was responsible for programming gateway to TSYS, First Data, Vital and 5th 3rd Bank, as well as Ecommerce, payment gateways and PCI certifications. In 2005, Dave Smith founded Smith Consulting, where they oversaw day to day operations, programming, marketing and sales, as well as Microsoft open source content management systems (CMS) and custom programming and apps. Finally, in 2020, Dave Smith founded IT Nation, where they oversee Operations, Engineering and Support, and provides Remote/Onsite IT Management and Support, as well as Cloud and Cyber Security.

Dave Smith earned their MBA from Pepperdine University between 1992 and 1996, studying Business. Dave earned their BS in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine between 1987 and 1991. Dave also earned their BS in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara between 1985 and 1987.
