Founded in 1972, Smith Fertilizer & Grain (SFG) is a third-generation, family-owned agribusiness serving the farming communities of South Central Iowa. What began as a single-location operation has grown into a multi-division company with more than 80 full-time employees and facilities across Albia, Centerville, Columbia, Melcher-Dallas, Milo, and Pleasantville.

SFG provides full-service agricultural solutions in fertilizer, feed, and grain, along with road maintenance and environmental products through our SFG Road Maintenance division. We’re proud to partner with farmers, municipalities, and commercial clients to deliver reliable, high-quality products and personalized service.

Our mission is to combine the strength of modern technology with the values our company was built on, integrity, hard work, and community commitment. We believe that lasting success comes from investing in our people, supporting local agriculture, and helping customers achieve their goals season after season.
