Stan Southern

Stan Southern has a strong background in engineering leadership and program management. Stan currently holds the position of Senior Director of Software Engineering at Smith Micro Software, Inc. In their previous role as Engineering VP at Smith Micro, they led the software development for the SafePath product family and managed a remote development team across multiple countries. Prior to that, Stan served as Engineering VP / Engineering Director at Alpha Technologies, where they oversaw hardware development, firmware development, and testing activities. Stan also held the position of Engineering VP at Cheetah Technologies, where they led engineering activities for DOCSIS-based status monitoring products. Before that, Stan worked at MEDRAD as a Program Director, leading software development for CT injection systems. Stan started their career at Marconi as Platform Director and PMO Director, managing product development projects and having P&L responsibility. Stan also worked at FORE Systems as Manager of the Edge Products Program Management Group and as a Program Manager, leading product development and joint projects with external partners.

Stan Southern holds a Master's degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.
