Steve Barnes

Steve Barnes has over 30 years of work experience in the field of information technology. Steve started their career at Hughes Aircraft Co. in 1980 as a Software developer, where they designed, developed, tested, and implemented software packages for various business applications. Steve then progressed to the role of MTS II, where they became the Responsible Engineering Authority for a large, scientific, real-time telemetry and command software subsystem. In 1992, Steve joined Smith Optics Inc. as the IT Director, where they managed all functions related to ensuring IT needs were met for a dynamic and growing manufacturing company. Steve was responsible for short and long-term strategy development, software development and hardware installation, training and support for over 200 users, telcomm and ecommerce needs, budgeting, and contract review. Steve has proven expertise in IT management and software development.

Steve Barnes has a diverse education history. Steve started their academic journey in 1972 at St. Anthony High School, where they completed a College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program, receiving a Diploma in 1976. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from CSU Dominguez Hills, attending from 1976 to 1986. To further enhance their knowledge and skills, Steve enrolled in Seattle University from 1988 to 1990 and earned a Master of Software Engineering (MSE) degree with a specialization in Software Engineering.
