Lori Knous is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in engineering, quality assurance, and business development across various industries. Currently serving as the General Manager of Akron Labs within the MSE Division at Smithers since November 2021, Lori oversees the chemical testing lab and physical testing lab, both of which are ISO 17025 and NADCAP accredited. Prior experiences include roles at Alpha Technologies, where Lori held senior leadership positions managing business development, operations, engineering, safety, and quality, and contributed significantly to strategic initiatives. Additional experience encompasses continuous improvement and metallurgical processes at Allied Machine & Engineering, as well as process engineering roles at PCC Airfoils and Kennametal. Lori holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical & Materials Science Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
