Michael Johnson serves as the Urban Design Studio Leader at SmithGroup, a position held since February 2008. In this role, Michael demonstrates expertise in addressing complex urban challenges across varied markets and locations, contributing to significant landscape architecture and urban design projects in major American cities, innovative campus plans for prestigious universities and Fortune 500 companies, and large-scale mixed-use developments internationally. Previously, Michael worked as a Landscape Architect at EDSA, Inc. from May 2004 to February 2008. Michael holds a Master's degree in Urban Design from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Ball State University.
