Smithies Studio is Jonathan and Amanda Smithies: a husband-and-wife studio building custom software for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, manual workarounds and the off-the-shelf tools they started on, and for founders with an idea but no team to build it.

Jonathan is the engineer behind everything we ship, with over ten years turning awkward business problems into software that fits. Amanda leads everything around it, but being just the two of us, we share most of it: communication, project management, design and looking after our clients. Together we cover both halves of a good project.

We build the practical things a growing business runs on: booking systems, customer portals, CRMs, dashboards, internal tools, automation and the occasional proof of concept, all reachable from any browser, plus the websites around them.

In practice that has meant customer onboarding cut from two weeks to under two minutes, booking admin down 98%, identity checks done in around sixty seconds, and about fifteen hours of manual admin handed back every week. Many are long relationships now, several into their ninth and tenth years, with systems shipped for clients from the UK to Colombia.

We work in four plain stages, listen, plan, build, support. You get a clear price against an agreed scope before we write a line of code, every decision explained in words you can act on, and honest advice, including the times the right answer is not to build at all. Going live is not where we leave. We stay on to look after what we build as the business changes, and you always know which of us to call.

Smithies Studio LLP is registered in England and Wales (company no. OC460734), based in Chepstow, working across the UK and internationally. We build to recognised standards for accessibility, data protection and security.

If something is slowing your business down, or you have an idea waiting to be built, tell us what is not working. A plain conversation, no obligation.
