Smiths Advanced Metals (SAM) was formed in 1989 with the simple aim of creating a World Class supplier of high quality metals to all high technology industries. 

The belief at the outset was that there is a need for industries of all types and sizes, to have access to a single reliable source for all metals, the quality of which would be second to none, with facilities for physical preparation as close as possible to the customers final requirement.
