John Sweet

John Sweet is a seasoned professional in the realms of cybersecurity and IT operations, currently serving as a Senior Cyber Risk Specialist at SMUD since January 2022. Prior to this role, John held key positions at Caltrans as District IT Operations Branch Chief and Network Section Manager from 2016 to 2021, and at the California Department of Technology as Systems Software Specialist III from 2009 to 2016. John's career began at AT&T in Ethernet Network Operations from 2000 to 2009. John is furthering professional expertise with dual Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Cybersecurity from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, expected to be completed in May 2024, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from California State University-Sacramento.
