Jon Olson

Jon Olson is an experienced professional in the energy sector with a strong background in trading, contracts, and business development. Currently serving as the Director of Energy Trading and Contracts at SMUD since May 2016, Jon oversees market activities related to a diverse energy portfolio, optimizing a range of generation assets. Previously, Jon held positions such as Senior Solutions Consultant at Allegro Development Corporation and Director of Business Development at MCG Energy Solutions, where responsibilities included market strategy and corporate negotiations. Jon's experience also includes managerial roles at Great River Energy and Split Rock Energy, as well as procurement and trading management in earlier positions at Guidant and Continental Grain Company.
