Sofia Gutierrez

Sofia Gutierrez is a seasoned public relations professional currently serving as a Public Information Specialist at SMUD since December 2023. Prior to this role, Sofia worked as a Public Information Officer for the California High-Speed Rail Authority from March 2021 to December 2023, where responsibilities included responding to media inquiries and delivering key messages for the nation's first electrified high-speed rail system. Sofia also has experience as a Public Relations Consultant, helping clients with media outreach and strategic communication from September 2019 to March 2021, and held the position of Vice President at Halldin Public Relations, managing major client accounts and media interactions from May 2005 to August 2019. Sofia holds a BA in Communication Studies from California State University-Sacramento and completed the Catalyst Leadership Program.
