Cybersecurity Team Lead at SMX

Dan Henry has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Dan started their career as a System Admin at LSU Medical Center, managing LAN technicians and overseeing installations and troubleshooting. Dan then moved on to USAID / SETA, where they served as a Senior Systems Analyst and later as the Manager of the Internet Center for Development, focusing on evaluating and implementing appropriate technologies for development activities.

At USAID/OTI, Dan held various positions, including Technology Sector Specialist, where they provided technical leadership on technologies for grant development and monitoring, and Manager of the GIS Team, overseeing mapping and geospatial analysis. Dan also worked as a Senior Technology Advisor, supporting programs in complex environments undergoing political instability or transition.

As a self-employed Information Technology Consultant, Dan provided technology consulting services on international humanitarian and development projects. Dan designed and managed full SDLC environments and processes, incorporating incident tracking, project management, and budgetary controls.

Most recently, Dan worked as the Director of Technology at Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans, where they directed the use of technology for both academic and operational purposes. Currently, they serve as the Cybersecurity Team Lead for SMX, leading a team of cybersecurity professionals and managing enterprise vulnerability and cybersecurity management for the USACE ERDC RDE network.

Dan Henry obtained a CCNA Cyber Operations degree in Cyber Security from Cisco Networking Academy in 2017. Additionally, they have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of New Orleans. Dan also holds certifications such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA CyberSecurity Ops from Cisco, and Foundations of Programming: Object-Oriented Design from Lynda.com.
