Umberto Baldi

Umberto Baldi, born in Rome in 1972, is Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel of Snam since June 2021.

He holds a JD equivalent from La Sapienza University of Rome and a LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law of New York. Umberto has extensive experience in international corporate, financial and regulatory matters, structuring and executing corporate and financial transactions and designing compliance policies and procedures.

From 2019 until he joined Snam he served as Group General Counsel of Luxottica and Co-Secretary of the Board of EssilorLuxottica in Paris.

Previously, he worked as General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Fincantieri, partner of Tonucci & Partners, General Counsel of Noonday Asset Management, associate of Sullivan & Cromwell and secondee at Goldman Sachs International.

Umberto is admitted to the Bar in New York and Rome.
