David Rice attended The Castle School from 1993 to 2000, but did not obtain a degree or field of study during this period. David then attended The University of St. Mark and St. John from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.

In addition to their formal education, David has obtained several certifications. In July 2016, they completed "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" course offered by Coursera. In July 2017, they completed multiple courses including "Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)," "Leveraging Unstructured Data with Cloud Dataproc on Google Cloud Platform," "Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals," and "Serverless Data Analysis with Google BigQuery and Cloud Dataflow," all from Coursera. Furthermore, in August 2017, David obtained a certification in "Python Data Structures" from Coursera.

Their professional development continued in 2018 when they completed the "Initiating and Planning Projects" course offered by UC Irvine. In 2019, David achieved the "Cloud Analytics Practitioner" certification and the "Cloud Analytics Master" certification, both from the Cloud Analytics Academy. Moreover, in April 2020, they completed the "Business Development: Strategic Planning" program offered by LinkedIn. Additionally, in May 2020, David obtained the "SnowPro Core Certification" from Snowflake. Lastly, in October 2020, they completed the "Building a Data Warehouse using Matillion" course from Matillion Academy.
