Steve Simmons

Steve Simmons has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Steve currently works as a Software Developer at SnapIT Solutions, where they actively participate in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for clients. In this role, they are responsible for coding, testing, and implementing features and configuration changes in software applications. Steve also creates technical designs and mockups according to project requirements. Prior to their role at SnapIT Solutions, they worked as a Web Development Apprentice, where they continued their learning of React and JavaScript. Steve utilized their skills to work on various projects, including the creation of a React website and an IP address tracker. During this time, they also practiced pair programming and assisted in bug resolution.

Before joining SnapIT Solutions, Steve worked at Simmons Design Solutions as a Digital Media Designer. In this role, they designed and created responsive websites and digital assets for clients using technologies like CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and WordPress. Steve collaborated with fellow designers and clients to create effective designs that aligned with clients' criteria and vision. Steve utilized tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and wireframing techniques to create prototypes and iterations of potential website design layouts.

Prior to their role at Simmons Design Solutions, Steve worked at Fern Expo as a Graphic Designer. Here, they provided creative and high-quality designs and branding for trade shows. Steve developed concepts for various materials such as entrance unit displays, banners, signage, and booth displays. Steve also trained and instructed other designers as a senior member of the graphics department. Steve collaborated directly with clients, including Sprint, Cerner, Hallmark Cards, NASCAR, and the Kansas City Royals, to produce graphics and displays for industry trade shows.

Earlier in their career, Steve worked as a Graphic Artist at Traffic Billboards, LLC, where they designed company advertisements and promotional materials. Steve also worked directly with clients to create mobile billboard advertisements. Before that, they worked at Lifetouch as a Page Editor/ E-Strip Operator, where they edited page layouts for school yearbooks and performed art clean up on hard copies of yearbook pages.

Steve also has experience as a Graphic Artist at United Sign and as a Scenic Carpenter at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Steve worked as a Graphic Artist Intern at London Property Brochures, where they designed logos for local companies and created videos using Avid software for a local band.

Steve Simmons has a diverse education history. In 1993, they attended Metropolitan Community College and obtained an Associate's degree in General Studies, which they completed in 1995. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 1995 to 1998, majoring in Art.

More recently, Steve focused on developing their skills in software development. From 2020 to 2021, they attended Skilled KC - Kauffman Foundation, where they obtained a Certificate in Software Development. In 2021, they also completed a Certificate in Javascript at SnapIT.

In addition to their formal education, Steve obtained the SAFe Agilist Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in March 2022.
