Eli Lazar is a Co-Founder and the Chief Technology Officer of SNOOZ, a company that specializes in building devices to optimize the bedroom environment. Prior to their work at SNOOZ, Eli was a Senior Engineer at Caterpillar Inc., where they ran fluid dynamic and thermodynamic simulations of full scale Caterpillar machines. Eli has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, investigating the interaction of a plasma field in subsonic and supersonic (Mach 2) airflows to improve combustion efficiency in aircraft propulsion systems. Throughout their career, Eli has gained extensive experience in designing and operating plasma systems, performing spectroscopy, particle image velocimetry, schlieren photography, and other diagnostics.
Eli Lazar attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering in 2013. Eli was a National Science Foundation Fellow during their time at the school. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010. Eli was a Mechanical Science and Engineering Graduate Fellow during their time at the school. Eli earned a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009.
