Afroz Alam

Afroz Alam is a skilled software engineer with a strong background in database management and machine learning research. Currently at Snowflake since June 2022, Afroz specializes in software development with a focus on automation and efficiency. Previously, as an Associate Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs, significant contributions included leading a project that reduced the database failover time from 30 minutes to 5 minutes, demonstrating expertise in Agile methodologies. Educationally, Afroz holds a Master of Engineering in EECS from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where research involved advancing GAN protocols and developing datasets for caricature generation.
