James Pollard

James Pollard is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing secure and scalable software solutions. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Snowflake since February 2023, James previously held the same role at LeapYear Technologies, where efforts focused on cryptography and machine learning to safeguard sensitive data. Prior to that, James worked at Pivotal Software as a Software Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer, managing one of the largest CloudFoundrys globally, and led a team at VMware responsible for Cloud Foundry for Kubernetes. James's career began at Roche Sequencing North America, where responsibilities included designing cloud data pipelines, and earlier roles included data scientist positions at UC Berkeley's Optometry laboratories, contributing to visual experiment analysis and neural circuitry research. James holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Computation and Bioinformatics from the University of California, Berkeley.
