Jim Ahn is an experienced software engineering manager with a strong background in quantitative development and portfolio management solutions. Currently at Snowflake since June 2021, Jim manages software engineering initiatives for Snowtrail. Previously, Jim held significant roles at BlackRock, leading technical efforts for a hedge fund's quantitative portfolio management infrastructure, and at Pine River Capital Management, where Jim developed a comprehensive portfolio management solution for convertible arbitrage. As the Global Head of Convertible Technology at RBC Capital Markets, Jim oversaw the delivery of a vast analytics platform, enhancing productivity for electronic trading. Jim began a career in quantitative development at Thomas Weisel Partners, focusing on convertible securities trading. Jim holds a Master's degree in Operations Research from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
