Scott Garriss

Scott Garriss is a Principal Engineer at Snowflake, bringing extensive experience as an engineering lead focused on balancing product requirements, reliability, and time-to-market. Previously, Garriss held significant roles at Google, including Staff Software Engineering Manager for Compute Engine, where they grew a subteam, drove major engineering initiatives, and improved operational efficiency, saving the company hundreds of millions in expenses. Garriss's early career included internships at Intel and IBM, where they contributed to published research, and at National Instruments, where they worked on hardware design and embedded systems. Scott earned a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
