Bashir Kasekende

Bashir Kasekende is a seasoned professional in the agribusiness and project management sectors, currently serving as the Agri-Food Sector Lead and Country Management Team member at SNV since September 2020. Kasekende has held various prominent roles at SNV, including Country Project Manager for the CRAFT project and Acting Country Director. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Chemonics International, where Kasekende contributed as Regional Team Leader for the USAID Feed the Future Uganda initiative and served as Zonal Business Manager/Beans Value Chain Advisor. Additional experience encompasses roles at Farm Africa, Rural Enterprises Development Services, and associations focused on vanilla market systems. Kasekende possesses advanced academic qualifications, including an MBA and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Makerere University.
