Simon O'Connell

Simon O'Connell is the current CEO at SNV. Prior to this role, they served as the Executive Director at Mercy Corps from June 2008 to July 2020. Simon has over 10 years of experience in international development in community development and humanitarian roles, having worked in Mexico, Morocco, Sudan, South Sudan, and across East & Southern Africa.

Simon O'Connell has a postgraduate diploma in development economics and international development from Imperial College London. Simon also has an MSc affiliated course in rural and social development from Imperial College London. Additionally, they have a Master of Arts in diplomacy and international relations from Lancaster University. Lastly, they have a sociology degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
