Matt Thompson is a seasoned hydrogeologist with extensive experience in technical services and project management within the mining and resource development sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Technical Services and Upstream Projects Delivery Manager at SO4 since December 2018, Matt oversees the upstream delivery of the Lake Way Project, focusing on non-process plant capital works, brine supply, and associated infrastructure. Prior roles include Exploration/Resource Development Manager, Principal Hydrogeologist, and Senior Hydrogeologist, demonstrating a comprehensive background in hydrogeological exploration, resource management, and field operations. Previous experience spans independent hydrogeology at Aqua Geo LLC, senior positions at RPS Group, and project management at Converse Consultants, showcasing expertise in mine dewatering, production bore design, and environmental studies. Matt holds a degree in Geology with a focus on Hydrogeology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
