Basil Rowe

Basil Rowe has extensive experience in human resources and total rewards, currently serving as VP Total Rewards at Sobeys since November 2020, where responsibilities include designing and implementing compensation, rewards, and benefits for a complex organization with 150,000 employees. Prior to Sobeys, Basil held the position of SVP Total Rewards at Loblaw Companies Limited from 2014 to 2019, overseeing compensation, benefits, and HR services for 140,000 employees and establishing a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy. Previous roles include VP of HR for Total Rewards & HR Shared Services and VP of HR for the Health Care Business at Shoppers Drug Mart, and Senior Director of Human Resources at Bell, where significant achievements included enhanced employee engagement and successful integration during acquisitions. Education includes an MBA in Human Resources from the Rotman School of Management and degrees in Human Resource Management and Economics & Labour Relations from Humber College and the University of Toronto, respectively.
