Stephen Walters has extensive work experience in both the military and private sector. Stephen is currently serving as the Chief Strategy Officer at Sochitel UK since February 2021.
Prior to this role, Stephen worked in the British Army from August 2012 to January 2021. During this time, they served as the Armoured Cavalry 2025 Programme Manager from June 2015 to January 2021. Before that, they held the position of Squadron Leader in The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards from August 2012 to June 2015.
Stephen Walters obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Stephen then attended Cranfield University in 2010 and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Battlespace Technology. In the same year at Cranfield University, they also obtained a degree in Acquisition Employment Training, Awareness and Practitioner.
In 2009, Stephen attended The Defence Academy of the United Kingdom and earned a degree in ICSC(L), Defence. Additionally, they attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst from 1999 to 2000 and completed the Commissioning Course, Defence.
Stephen has also obtained certifications throughout their career. In 2010, they obtained the APMP - Practitioner certification from the Association of Project Managers. Stephen also holds certifications in MSP Practitioner and Management of Risk - Practitioner from AXELOS Global Best Practice, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
