Robert Solomon is an experienced fire protection engineer currently serving as the Principal Engineer and Chief Development Officer at SLS Consulting, LLC. Since joining SLS in June 2020, Robert has supported the team in maintaining external relationships and has contributed as a technical resource on innovative building designs and compliance with dynamic codes and standards. Prior to this role, Robert was the Director of NFPA’s Built Environment Codes and Fire Protection Systems group for over three decades, where they oversaw numerous initiatives and authored various publications. Additionally, Robert has served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, teaching fire protection engineering. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and are a registered professional engineer in California.
