Ted Matthews

Ted Matthews, MBA, CPA, CGMA has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Starting in 1987, they worked as a Senior Manager in Audit at Deloitte & Touche, specializing in health care services. In 1996, they joined Cook Children's Health Care System as the Vice President of Finance for the Cook Children's Physician Network, where they were responsible for financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting. In 2011, Ted became the CFO and VP of Finance for Banner Medical Group, overseeing the financial management of the nonprofit medical group within the Banner Health system. Ted then moved on to become the Chief Financial Officer at Austin Regional Clinic in 2015, where they played a key role in strategy development and implementation. Currently, Ted is the Chief Financial Officer at SOFIE, a position they have held since 2023. In addition to their work experience, Ted has served on the Board of Directors for Be the Bridge since 2018, holding the role of Treasurer. Overall, Ted's career demonstrates their expertise in financial management and strategic planning in the healthcare industry.

Ted Matthews, MBA, CPA, CGMA, obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas in 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland from 1981 to 1985. In addition to their degrees, Ted has obtained certifications as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from both the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy. Ted has also earned the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
