Kari Vääränen

Kari Vääränen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Kari began their career in 1989 as a System Administrator at Tampella Ltd, later Valmet Paper machinery Ltd, where they were responsible for administering the UNIX platform and later organizing internet connections for the company. In 1991, they became a software developer and entrepreneur at Unicore Ltd, where they provided software development services while working full-time in another company. In 1994, they played a role in starting a new internet service provider in Tampere, Finland.

Vääränen joined Elisa Plc in 1995, where they held various positions over 11 years, including R&D engineer, Product Director, and Head of the department. Kari was responsible for starting the internet service business at Tampere Telephone Company and building the first unified communications service at Soon Communications. In their last years at Elisa, they focused on the Contact Center service and EDI business.

From 2006 to 2011, Vääränen worked at Technopolis Ventures Ltd, initially as a Business Development Advisor and later as a Fundraising Manager. In these roles, they provided consultation and assistance to entrepreneurs in developing their companies and raising growth funding.

Currently, Vääränen holds the role of Business Executive, BT Backbone, at Sofigate, a position they have held since 2022. In this role, they have been involved in developing a new way to take care of a mid-market sized company's basic IT services, constantly adapting the service concept to meet customer's business needs.
