Timo Ahonen has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Timo started their career at Inex Partners Oy, where they worked on their Master's thesis project from October 1994 to April 1995. Timo then joined ExxonMobil in April 1995 and held various roles, including Supply Coordinator, IT Specialist, IT Operations/Project Manager, IT Customer Service Advisor, and IT Project Manager. Afterward, they joined Nokia in March 2006 as a Manager and progressed to become a Senior Manager, Senior Capability Manager, and Senior Solution Delivery Manager. From April 2014 to December 2015, they worked as a Principal IT Solution Manager at Microsoft. Finally, since January 2016, Timo has been working at Sofigate, starting as an Advisor and progressing to Senior Advisor and eventually CTO, Service Integration.
Timo Ahonen's education history begins with their graduation from Tapiolan lukio in 1988, where they obtained the status of an Upper Secondary School Graduate. Following this, they attended the Finnish Defence Forces from 1989 to 1990, earning the title of a 2nd lieutenant (res.). In the period from 1990 to 1995, they completed their M.Sc. (Econ.) degree in Accounting and Computer Science at the Helsinki School of Economics.
In addition to their formal education, Timo Ahonen has obtained several certifications. In 2019, they achieved the Certified Agile Service Manager (CASM) certification from PeopleCert and the SIAM™ Foundation certification from EXIN your ICT competence partner. In 2016, they gained the Certified IT Management Professional (CIMP) certification from IT Academy for Business, and in 2015, they obtained the Certified IT Standard Professional (CISP) certification from ICT Standard Forum. Timo also holds the CMDB Foundation certification from Wakaru Oy, which they acquired in 2012, and the ITIL Foundation v3 certification from Tieturi (Management Institute of Finland MIF), which they obtained in 2010.
