Goro Takeda

Goro Takeda is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in the life sciences and technology sectors. Currently serving as Managing Partner at Newton Biocapital since April 2017, Goro also co-founded FinTech Global Capital in January 2008, where Goro holds the title of Co-founder and Managing Partner, focusing on investments in life sciences and information technology. As a Venture Partner at Sofinnova Ventures, Goro joined as a Kauffman Fellow to lead the firm's Asia-based life sciences initiatives and provided insights into the Japanese biopharmaceutical market. Previously, Goro was the Deputy General Manager at NIF SMBC Ventures, spearheading the life sciences division and fostering partnerships with US venture capital firms. Early career experience includes a role as a Corporate Officer at Tanabe Pharmaceuticals, USA, where Goro contributed to various business segments. Goro holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Chemistry from Waseda University.
