Tomi Niemi

Tomi Niemi has a strong background in software engineering and architecture, with over 20 years of experience in the field. Tomi started their career at Infosto Group (Sanoma Oyj) as a Software Designer, where they worked from 2000 to 2002. Tomi then moved on to Datium Oy, where they worked as a System Specialist from 2002 to 2004. At Datium Oy, they were involved in Java J2EE development, database management, and sysadmin duties.

In 2005, Tomi joined Nowire Oy as a Software Engineer, where they worked until 2008. During their time at Nowire Oy, they worked on various Java projects and gained experience in a wide range of technologies, including MVC web applications, low-level hardware solutions, and database optimization.

Tomi then moved on to Sofokus, where they held multiple roles from 2008 to the present. Tomi started as a Software Architect, working on production support, maintenance, and sysadmin tasks. Tomi also worked on dozens of client projects for different industries, gaining experience in a variety of technologies. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of CTO & Technology Advisor at Sofokus, where they served as an architect and technology advisor for multiple project teams. Their responsibilities included DevOps and sysadmin duties, cloud architecture, product development, security tasks, and providing technical input for new service design concepts. Their expertise includes GCP, AWS, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and digital commerce.

Tomi Niemi obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree in ICT Business & Software Production from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. This education took place from 1998 to 2003.

In addition to their degree, Tomi Niemi also attained several additional certifications. Tomi received the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022. Furthermore, they obtained the Google Cloud Sales Credential from Google Cloud Training Online in January 2020 and the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification from the same institution in November 2018.
