Youngchan Kim

Youngchan Kim is an incoming Ph.D. student at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, where they will focus on Visual Computing and AI under the guidance of Prof. Christian Theobalt. They have previously completed a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence at 포항공과대학교, where their research concentrated on light properties modeling and high-dimensional visual datasets. In addition to their academic pursuits, Youngchan has held roles as a Technical Project Lead and Research Engineer at SOFTEYE since 2025, developing innovative 3D gaze modeling and eye-tracking pipelines. They have also contributed to AI research and engineering at Beeble and NationA, where they worked on character motion generation and human-centric vision models. Youngchan holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Yonsei University.
