Tony Wasserman

Tony Wasserman is a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in software product development strategies and open source systems. As the Principal at Software Methods and Tools since 1997, Wasserman specializes in coaching tech founders. Notably, Wasserman served as a member, and chair from 2015 to 2022, of the IFIP Working Group 2.13 focused on open source systems. Academic contributions include a tenure as Professor of Software Management Practice at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley, where Wasserman founded the Center for Open Source Investigation. Additionally, experience includes board membership at the Open Source Initiative and leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard and Bluestone Software, culminating from a strong academic foundation with a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an AB in Mathematics and Physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
