Marcin Sieprawski has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Marcin began their career as a Software and Web Developer at Studio Filmów Animowanych in 1997. From 1997 to 2005, they worked as an Analyst, Software Developer, and Project Manager at Sawan, where they were responsible for designing, developing, and implementing IT systems for the banking sector in Poland. During this time, they also managed the first large-scale corporate e-Learning project in Poland.
In 2005, Marcin joined Garlik as a Software Architect and Project Manager, where they played a key role in developing technology for the web-scale Semantic Web startup. Marcin participated in R&D, product development, scaling out, and the official launch of the company.
From 2007 to 2009, Marcin served as the Technical Team Lead at Software Mind, leading a team that developed technology for garlik.com. Marcin was responsible for project management, innovation development, Semantic Web technologies integration, and managing the software development team.
Marcin returned to Software Mind in 2009 as a Project Manager, overseeing various projects and ensuring successful delivery to clients. In 2011, they took on the role of R&D Project Manager and Senior Software Architect, where they managed projects and provided technical leadership.
In 2014, Marcin became the Head of Big Data Lab at Software Mind, specializing in Big Data integration and analytics, data management, scalable architectures, and various cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Most recently, Marcin has been working on the CS3MESH4EOSC Project as the Task Leader for Distributed Data Science Environments since 2020.
Throughout their career, Marcin has demonstrated expertise in software development, project management, and technical leadership, particularly in the areas of Big Data, Semantic Web, and innovative technologies.
Marcin Sieprawski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in IT from Jagiellonian University, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Zespół Szkół Techniczno-Ekonomicznych w Skawinie - Technikum Elektroniczne from 1987 to 1992, where they obtained a degree in Electronics Technician. Their field of study focused on electrical and electronic industrial automation.
