Matthew Amy has held numerous positions in the software engineering field since 2011. Theirwork experience includes being an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Toronto from 2011 to 2013, a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto from 2013 to 2015, a Research Intern at Microsoft from 2015 to 2016, a Software Engineer at Microsoft from 2016 to 2019, a Research Software Engineer at softwareQ Inc from 2019 to 2021, and currently an AARMS Postdoctoral Fellow at Dalhousie University since 2019. Matthew is set to become an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University starting in 2022.
Matthew Amy received their Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2011, majoring in Honours Computer Science with a Pure Mathematics Minor. Matthew then went on to receive their Master of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2013, specializing in Computer Science - Quantum Information. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Waterloo in 2019, again specializing in Computer Science - Quantum Information.
