Mark Ottaway

Mark Ottaway has a diverse work experience in the field of IT. Mark worked as a Freelance Writer at IOD (DiamondDemand) starting in October 2019. Prior to that, they served as a Lead Engineer at Sohonet from September 2018 onwards. Mark also worked at Guardian News & Media as a Senior Unix Administrator from June 2013 to August 2018, where they played a key role in designing and implementing Linux server build environments and developing monitoring infrastructure. Before that, they worked at BT as a 3rd line Linux Support engineer and Systems Integrator from July 2009 to June 2013, where they were involved in notable projects such as investigating the use of RedHat Cluster Services and ensuring operability and reliability of RHCS with the MQ team. Mark started their career at Capgemini in 2001 as an OSS Toolsets Developer, supporting network security and later moving to application management and network and security management roles. Throughout their career, Mark has gained experience in various areas such as server administration, scripting, application development, and network security.

Mark Ottaway attended Queen Mary University of London from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering.
