Since the year 2000, Soil Born Farms has helped Sacramento County grow a local food system that encourages health, nurtures the environment, and grows a sustainable community. We're a nonprofit urban agriculture and education project, rooted on 55 acres of permanently protected organic farmland in Rancho Cordova.

Each year we welcome thousands of visitors for hands-on experiences—growing organic food, shopping local, eating with the seasons, connecting with neighbors, and spending time in the natural world—and we support school gardens across the region.

Our interconnected programs span five areas:

🌱 Youth Education — hands-on learning at our farm and in school gardens.
🌿 Adult Education — skills for growing organic gardens and healthy living.
🚜 Farm & Gardens — regenerative, climate-smart growing that supports healthy ecosystems and healthy people.
💪 Job Training — real work experience for teens and young adults across our marketplace, greenhouses, farm, youth programs, farmhouse kitchen and snack bar.
🍅 Food Access — locally grown produce and prepared meals for our community, school meals, and local food pantries.
Join us at our weekly Saturday at the Farm: shop locally grown produce and groceries, grab a meal from our Farmhouse Kitchen, volunteer, take a yoga class or farm tour, and let kids explore our youth garden!
