Hui Yan

Hui Yan is a seasoned engineering professional specializing in underwater vehicle design and hydrodynamics. Currently serving as a Senior Development Engineer at SMD since January 2015, Hui Yan focuses on propulsion system analysis, dynamic modeling, and simulation to enhance the performance of ROVs and trenching vehicles. Prior experience includes a Development Engineer role at Teledyne CDL, where Hui Yan was involved in inertial navigation algorithm design. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Design and Construction of Naval Architecture & Ocean Structure from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree in the same field from Harbin Engineering University. Research work includes leadership in the design of AUVs and contributions to ROV general design and navigation algorithms.
