Shawn S.

Shawn S. has over 8 years of experience in the digital product design field. In 2019, they began their current role as Head of Digital Product Design at Solar.com. Prior to that, they held the same role at Electrum (formerly PickMySolar) from 2014 to 2019. During their time with Electrum, they were responsible for authoring, planning, designing, and encompassing a variety of interaction and digital design objectives. Shawn was also recognized with several awards, including 2016 Startup Grinds startup of the year, 2015 Techweek state and national startup champions, 2015 U.S. Department of Energy Innovation Grand Prize Winner for Online Solar Education Tool, SolarBook, and 2014 U.S. Department of Energy Innovation Grand Prize Winner for Online Solar Education Tool, SolarBook. From 2011 to 2014, Shawn was the Co-founder & Mechanics Designer at Decobot. During this time, they were responsible for customer & retailer relations, marketing & advertising, event coordination, production logistics and brand enhancement. Shawn also successfully raised over $30,000 in crowdfunding to develop and manufacture product. From 2011 to 2012, Shawn was the Senior Graphic Designer at Associated Students at California State University, Northridge. During their time there, they coordinated the academic year design strategy alongside the marketing director and provided art direction to the creative team in digital and print. Shawn also successfully lead in the rebrand of the Associated Students logo along with its eight departments. In 2012, Shawn was the Social Media / Public Relations Student Assistant at California State University, Northridge.
