Xavier Serrat

Dr. Serrat provides important insights into agrivoltaic applications for SolarWindow products, and the optimization of our electricity-generating coatings to improve greenhouse farming, plant quality, crop yield, and economics.

He brings specific expertise in greenhouse cropping and artificial LED lighting for plant fast-breeding techniques. Dr. Serrat is widely published and has extensive experience in greenhouse design and management, in vitro cultivation techniques and crop yield performance. Notably, his work has resulted in creating a globally recognized principal germplasm platform.

Dr. Serrat serves as a plant physiology, plant metabolism and plant biotechnology professor and investigator at the University of Barcelona where he has been a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Investigator in areas related to biotechnology since 2016. He completed his MA in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Barcelona in 2011 and BA in Biology from the University Autonoma Barcelona in 2001.
