Yong Hoon Kang

Yong Hoon KANG has a strong background in technology and telecommunications, with extensive experience working in various leadership roles. Yong Hoon is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at SOLiD since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Product and Technology Strategy at SOLiD, starting in 2017. Yong Hoon also served as the Vice President (VP) of Product and Technology Strategy and VP of Corporate and Business Planning at SOLiD from 2019 to 2020 and 2017 to 2018 respectively. Before joining SOLiD, they were the CEO of Pen Generations, Inc. from 2011 to 2016. Yong Hoon also co-founded and served as the Co-CEO of iBIT Technologies, Inc. in 2010. Additionally, they held the position of Vice President (VP) of R&D and Overseas Business at R-tron, Inc. from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they worked at SOLiD, Inc. where they served as the VP of Overseas Business from 2004 to 2009 and as the Leader of Digital Team, R&D from 2000 to 2009. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Engineer at Samsung Electronics and as a Visiting Research Scholar at KT.

Yong Hoon KANG completed their education at Seoul National University in the field of Electrical Engineering. Yong Hoon started their academic journey in 1988 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1992. Yong Hoon then pursued further studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from 1992 to 1994. Continuing their academic pursuit, Yong Hoon KANG achieved their highest level of education, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, from Seoul National University between 1994 and 1997.
