Clare Kahn

Dr. Clare Kahn has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a proven leadership record in strategic pharmaceutical development, registration and product lifecycle management. Since retiring as head of Worldwide Regulatory Strategy for the Global Innovative Pharma Portfolio at Pfizer, she has advised multiple start-up and established companies. She serves as R&D Strategy Officer for X-VAX Technology Inc. and is a member of the Advisory Board of KBP Biosciences.

Dr. Kahn joined Pfizer in 2010 to serve as Vice President and Head of Worldwide Regulatory for the Specialty Care Portfolio before expanding her role to lead the combined Specialty Care and Primary Care portfolios renamed as Pfizer’s Global Innovative Pharma business. In these roles she drove Pfizer’s global regulatory development encompassing vaccines, rare disease, inflammation, anti-infectives, neuroscience, pain, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, metabolic, renal and gender health.

Dr. Kahn joined Pfizer from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) R&D where served in preclinical and clinical disposition and metabolism research before moving into GSK International supporting regulatory affairs and business development. At GSK she advised on a wide range of development portfolios including vaccines, oncology, pulmonary, cardiovascular, metabolic and urology serving at the Vice President level since 1999.

In addition to industry advisory boards, she has served on academic and non-profit committees including the Steering Committee for "My Daughter the Scientist," Franklin Institute; PhRMA-CBER Liaison Committee and the Steering Committee of Temple University, School of Pharmacy, QA/ Regulatory Affairs Graduate Program. Her additional board roles include the Meadowbrook School (Vice President), The Rittenhouse Plaza (President) and Women International Leaders of Greater Philadelphia (board member).

Dr. Kahn has a Ph.D. in Biochemical Pharmacology from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at The Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London before moving to the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. There she served as Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Graduate Group in Pharmacological Sciences.
