Sury Somanathan

Sury Somanathan is currently the Senior Director of Immunomodulation and Immunosuppression at Solid Biosciences, focusing on developing transformational genetic medicines. With over 20 years of experience in gene therapy, Sury began their career as a postdoctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, where they conducted significant research on immune responses to viral vectors. Sury has contributed to the field through the development of novel gain-of-function transgenes and has authored over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior roles include significant positions at Ginkgo Bioworks, Pfizer, and Spark Therapeutics. Sury is presently pursuing a PhD in Biology at the University at Buffalo.
