Val Pate has over 25 years of experience in the affordable housing industry. Val has a deep understanding of the financing, development, and policy aspects of affordable housing.
Pate began their career as a Real Estate Analyst with PGP Inc. In this role, they gained experience in analyzing real estate opportunities and determining their feasibility.
Val then transitioned to Catholic Housing Services, where they were a Housing Developer. In this role, they were responsible for developing and managing affordable housing projects.
In 2000, Pate joined the Washington State Housing Finance Commission as Manager of the Tax Credit Division. In this role, they were responsible for administering the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.
In 2005, Pate left the Housing Finance Commission to join Enterprise Community Investment, Inc. as Northwest Acquisitions Manager. In this role, they were responsible for acquiring and financing affordable housing developments in the Northwest region.
In 2009, Pate joined Enterprise Community Partners as Director of Relationship Management for the Northwest region. In this role, they were responsible for building relationships with affordable housing developers and other stakeholders in the region.
Pate currently serves on the board of Solid Ground, an organization that works to end poverty and homelessness.
Val Pate completed a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Humboldt State University. They then went on to complete a Master of Arts in Sociology from the same school. Finally, they completed a PhC in Geography from the University of Washington.
