Brian Francisco

Brian Francisco has extensive experience in materials science and engineering, currently serving as Technical Director and Group Leader at Solid Power, Inc. since February 2015, where responsibilities include leading teams in the development of solid electrolyte materials and lithium-based anodes. Prior roles at Solid Power involved the development of advanced solid electrolytes and lithium metal anodes, with a strong focus on correlating battery performance to fundamental material properties. Brian's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on materials science from the University of Colorado Boulder, complemented by a Master's degree in the same field and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Haven. Previous experiences also include research and teaching roles at both universities, where Brian developed expertise in lithium battery technology and supercapacitors.
