Mengjie Chen, PhD, is an accomplished electrochemist with extensive experience in research and development, particularly in the fields of electrolyzers, ion exchange membranes, and fuel cells. Following a role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology from August 2021 to April 2022, Mengjie served as a Research Scientist at Fortescue Future Industries from April 2022 to March 2023, focusing on AEM electrolyzers and composite membrane development. Subsequently, Mengjie led the anion exchange membrane program at Fortescue from March 2023 to August 2025, overseeing advanced membrane and electrode development along with electrochemical system characterization and commercialization efforts. Currently, Mengjie holds the position of Senior Electrochemist at Solidec. Prior research experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the University at Buffalo from August 2016 to August 2021, concentrating on fuel cells and catalysts.
