Tom Howerton

Tom Howerton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Tom joined Solis in 2018, where they started as a Cyber Security Analyst and progressed to a Lead Security Consultant and later to a Manager and Senior Manager in Proactive Security. In 2019, they also joined CFC, where they held similar roles in Proactive Security. Prior to that, Tom worked at The Boon Group, Inc. as a Systems Administrator, managing and maintaining infrastructure and configuring network equipment. Tom also gained valuable leadership experience at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. as a Reservations and Member Services Manager, leading and inspiring a team and achieving sales goals. Tom's career journey began in 2004 when they served in the US Army as an Infantryman.

Tom Howerton has a diverse education history in the field of cybersecurity and information assurance. Tom began their educational journey in 2006 at Antelope Valley College, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Administration of Justice in 2011.

Seeking further specialization, Tom pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University. Tom attended from 2020 to 2022. Not stopping there, they enrolled in Western Governors University again in 2023, this time pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.

In addition to their academic achievements, Tom has also obtained various certifications to enhance their professional credentials. These certifications include CompTIA Project+, ITIL® 4 Foundation CPD, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA CySA+ ce Certification, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Ethical Hacker, CompTIA PenTest+ ce Certification, CompTIA IT Operations Specialist – CIOS Stackable Certification, CompTIA Network+ ce Certification, CompTIA A+ ce Certification, Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), NSE 4, and Nessus Certificate of Proficiency.
