Will McKinley

Will McKinley has held various roles in the software engineering industry since 1995. Will began their career as a Software Engineer at Lucent, followed by a role as Software Engineer at LongBoard in 1999. In 2005, they worked as a Software Engineer at Motricity, where they were the project and technical lead for a mobile carrier content delivery system. From 2006-2016, they held various roles at Cisco, including Agile and Lean Coach, Manager of Software Engineering, and Technical Leader. Will then worked as a Sr. Technical Architect at SAS from 2016-2019 before taking on the role of App Dev Architect at Red Hat from 2019-2021. Most recently, they have been the Director - Field Engineering and Field Engineer at solo.io since 2021.

Will McKinley obtained a BS in Computer Science from The University of Georgia between 1987 and 1995. In September 2019, they obtained certifications in Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences, Creating Change: Diversity and Inclusion in the Tech Industry, and Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging from LinkedIn. In September 2022, they obtained a certification in Fundamentals for Istio Ambient Mesh by Solo.io from solo.io.
